Local Tiny Core and remote VNC console not in sync

I have this odd behavior with Tiny Core Linux (version 7.2) that I don't seem to have with other distros.
I have Tiny Core Linux running as a QEMU VM (on a Linux host) for my GNS3 lab. When I run Tiny Core the only way to access it is via VNC (TightVNC in my case). When I load it everything loads up okay but the mouse is pretty out of sync with the local mouse from the VNC session. When I run the exact same VM with Debian instead of Tiny Core the mouse is in sync with the console. My assumption is the issue is some missing kernel module or something.
Has anyone seen this issue before?
I made a GIF so you can see what I am talking about.

Maybe I'm missing some details in your gif, but at a first glance, it looks simply like different sensitivity settings for your mouse?
If that's not the case, what kernel module do you think might be missing?

You need to install Xorg if you want an absolute mouse.
