I look forward to the day I go into the Chromebook's developer mode and put a dedicated install onto it. But not right now. Mine is an arm V7L
In the meantime - if you want to get some CLI goodness on have you thought about running the DosBox extension, and putting some *nix dos ports to it? This way you don't have to do anything special, just load a chrome extension.
(Note: for now.. That extension has been deprecated on anything but a chromebook / chromebase) Any other hardware and you have to load dosbox proper, not the extension.
My favorite little combo on a chromebook is dosbox, with the berkeley utilities found on the VDE EDITOR page. Look in the files section.
So it's not TC of course. But nice to use some of the standard *nix utils in a limited sort of way and is good training for when you get to TC's busybox...
