Found beta-2 so tried the latest.

For the most part no problems, other than at this early stage, wireless doesn't seem to install fully.  Wifi.tcz and wireless tools actually install, but no icon.  From the cli, iwlist seems gone.  My netgear wg111/V3 dongle is supported natively and needs no firmware.

Ate my own dog food and made sure that I could unzip and dd an image to a new card from a previous install on my stable pi, ver 8.1.5.  No problems there!

I think the repo is busy since the Fifth browser will fail to install, but having a blast with other programs.

Nice work!

piCore-9.0.beta2 is not yet release, just uploading files for public announcement. Please wait few days till common extensions will be upload.

Anyhow, thanks for the early testing :)

Also did a quick test on my pi w. Looks like no extensions are loaded. Even out-off-the-box mc.tcz and openssh.tcz are not loaded.
Doublechecked on rpi3 - works there.

Edit: And of course - thanks the effort :)

Early days for sure - I'll wait next time for the announcements.

Is there anything we can do as users to help out, other than to just randomly browse around and kick tires?

For example, even if we don't understand it, are there any testing scripts or things we could download and run to gather data for you?

I've got a spare RPI2 that I'm testing these alpha/beta releases on, so if there's any tests you'd like to run, like long-term stuff that would just eat your time away, let us know!

not sure to report a problem with piCore 9.0 beta 1 here:
Installed ristretto image viewer on piZERO. No start from wbar! - started in CLI and got the following error message:

ristretto: error while loading shared libraries: libxfconf-0.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

How to fix it?
I was looking for: gqview.tcz, Gpicview.tcz, flpicsee.tcz in the 8.x 9.x repo?
Can we bring over the extensions from previous repos?
t(w)o be(ers) or not t(w)o be(ers) that is the question

Hi,

I see that piCore 9.0beta includes the "pi3-disable-wifi" overlay, which is great. Maybe it would be interesting to add it by default in config.txt just like the pi3-disable-bt overlay?

Thomas
