« on: February 29, 2012, 12:09:11 PM »
i have tried with latest tinycore and with tinycore 3.8 and ipheth. But tethering doesn't work.
And I didn't find the solution in the forum. ipheth is not for tinycore 4. usb_modeswitch or whatever. What shell I do ??  :-\

Was the libusb extension loaded?

Note I am unable to test since the local telcom blocks iPhone tethering

Edit: note that the ipheth module is included in the kernel now.

my case is the opposite, I can tethering with USB but not with wifi with my android smartphone. I can find with wpa_gui the wifi but when I put the password it want the association but failed to connect, If I select my home wifi there is no problems to connect.

why?

I did a quick and dirty check with the latest version of libimobiledevice, usbmuxd and ipheth using an iPhone connected by usb cable:

Code: [Select]
$ sudo modprobe ipheth
$ sudo usbmuxd -f
[15:20:43.642][3] usbmuxd v1.0.7 starting up
[15:20:43.655][3] Connecting to new device on location 0x20006 as ID 1
[15:20:43.655][3] Initialization complete
[15:20:43.656][3] Connected to v1.0 device 1 on location 0x20006 with serial number 7d873f0ce2c59d19897f1c49f61dbeee64086a1d

Code: [Select]
$ idevicepair pair

SUCCESS: Paired with device 7d873f0ce2c59d19897f1c49f61dbeee64086a1d

dmesg
...
usb 2-1.3: new high speed USB device number 6 using ehci_hcd
usbcore: registered new interface driver ipheth
ipheth 2-1.3:4.2: Apple iPhone USB Ethernet device attached

I realise this is not a Galaxy Gio, but it would seem that things are in place for internet tethering to work?

I'll try to post the updated libimobiledevice extension in the next day or two.

I just went to Control Panel clicked network and changed the interface to usb0 possibly have to use DHCP Braudcast and clicked apply. you might need some of the app dependencies, tho.
