1. installed TC
2. setup network -> OK, it works
3. install GIMP -> OK, it works
4. try GIMP, Aquire -> No such item in File menu
5. install SCSI utilities (2.9 maybe?) -> I can't test it (I don't know how)
6. try GIMP, Aquire -> No such item in File menu
7. install xSane -> OK, but says "No supported scanner"

The HW is operational, booted from another hard drive  (WinXP + SilverFast) is working perfect.

That's all my history...

It's been quite a while since I used scsi with tinycore, but I was able to boot from an scsi hd and use an scsi cd and scanner.

You will probably need the scsi-KERNEL extension and to check that the correct driver is loaded for your scsi adapter with "lsmod".

You will also need the sane-backends and xsane extensions. If I recall correctly, you will need to create a small conf file (/usr/local/etc/sane.d/dll.conf?) for your specific scanner in conjunction with "scanimage -L".

Thanks, now I have to dig a little, to find out the meaning of your sentences. The main thing is: there is azt least one person -> You :-) who did it!
I'll be back - I hope.
