LXDE desktop issue...

(1/3) > >>

nitram:
Tested LXDE desktop on dCore-jessie and wily, both same problem. After startx an error popup appears, takes a while to populate with 'No session for PID <lxsession>'. Stops the desktop from loading until the error message is clicked. It appears to be a known issue with LXDE, no definitive fix i could find. Just reporting the issue if anyone is able to troubleshoot, thanks.

Jason W:
I don't see this behavior in a Ubuntu Trusty install with LXDE, so I will try to find what is needed to prevent this.

nitram:
That's a good sign. Runnng  startlxde  generates the 'Error' popup, the PID provided is always linked to 'lxsession'. Checking /home/tc/.cache/lxsession/LXDE/run.log reports trace error PID, failed to execute child process dbus-launch.

Tried:
* Installed  dbus-x11  at boot.
* Installing  lxpolkit  at boot.
* Re-imported LXDE with -R and -S options.
* Reports indicate configuration change, like /etc/pam.d, some files not present/different.

Jason W:
Nitram - I will be home to my machine later this evening, but if you or someone else wants, try installing policykit-1 and then launching lxde.  I read a Debian bug report about it, and they did not see the need to add policykit-1 as a required dep.  That may fix it.  It brings the size up of lxde.sce from 114M to 128M, but if it fixes the error message it is perhaps worth adding as a dep.  I was able to import lxde over an ssh console session, I will test tonight.

nitram:
Sorry, already included in the LXDE i've been testing:
