Unable to install Tiny Core
« on: May 29, 2016, 05:34:53 PM »
Hello everyone,
I am new here and have a problem installing Tiny Core. The screen gets up to "Set language to C" then stops. I have left the laptop alone for over half an hour (just in case it was doing something in the background) but still nothing.

Processor - Intel Pentium M 740 - 1.73 GHz
RAM - 1 GB
Hard Drive - 100 GB

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please add the bootcode "debug", see if any interesting messages are posted around the hang.

That's around the RTC wait, which would be surprising, but the "nortc" bootcode skips that, worth a try.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Sorry for the late reply. Working extra hours >:(

Anyway, perhaps I didn't explain myself better. I have absolutely do experience of linux to that detail. I was/am using Point Linux which just boots up.

Could you explain it in plain English please?

Regards
Stephen

When you boot (= after you have started your computer and it began to run from the TinyCore CD), you see something like

boot:

Then, press the <TAB> button (a line appears, yes?), and type the word "debug" at the end of the line; then press <ENTER>. Maybe we will have some extra info to determine why your TC is broken!
