Small system to surf the net
« on: March 30, 2009, 01:41:19 AM »
Hi I am Dennis, retired from GM as a ETECH, repaired auto electronics.
I know hardware but not software.
I have several systems I would like to just surf the net with while having music
from VTUNER playing in the backround.
These systems have either 32meg SSD with 128meg RAM or 64meg SSD with
128meg RAM. They can boot from many USB drives or sticks. The SSD size can increase
in size with new plugin if needed.
Right now the small 32meg SSD has WIN CE 5 and the 64meg SSD has a LINUX and both
want to load from and work with a local server, a net boot. With out this server neither
does much.

CAN TINY CORE LINUX RUN ON THESE TO SURF THE NET WHILE PLAYING MUSIC FROM THE NET?

1. Minimum System Requirements:
CPU-i486DX
RAM-48Mb
Wired Internet Connection OR loaded firmware for your WLAN module+wifi.tcz and it's dependencies.
TinyCore CD or an iso

This the minimum to get TC base running in text mode. GUI requires more, WEB browsers even more. 128M RAM is below the usual RAM needed by WEB browsers, but you can try Midory or Fifth with your sites. Anyhow I'm sceptic.

Dualityonme@ May I ask you not to give advice to others if you do not know proper answer? You are misleading others and takes away time who is correction your false response. I'm really fedup.
