fltk with xft support
« on: December 25, 2015, 11:30:43 AM »
Is it possible to compile fltk-1.3 with xft support. And, may be, as well the applications relying directly on it (like dillo, editor & cie)?

PS. I tried it on my own creating "myfltk-1.3.3.tcz" but that did not change anything in the appearance (and i got the advice that i would have to compile the apps using it too, which is beyond my capabilities ;) ).

It's not enabled to keep the TinyCore size down. Any xft version would need all separate apps then too.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Hi curaga! I understand that pretty well. Nevertheless, would be nice, if ... ;) I'm running tcl on a netbook. It is still very limited in size. does not consume so much space on the internal ssd flash as well. But  a nicer appearance would be highly welcome.

then why don't you just replace the fltk basis apps with whatever hipster wm you find appealing?
in tc design follows function.
