cups problem
« on: December 17, 2015, 06:46:14 AM »
Since recent, i cannot connect anymore to localhost:631 (the cups administration server). Printing does not work too, obviously ...

I had a working set-up and, as suggested in the infos i protected the following files:

/usr/local/etc/cups/ppd/HP_DESKJET_3900.ppd
/usr/local/etc/cups/printers.conf
/usr/local/etc/cups/cupsd.conf

I looked into cupsd.conf, but art a 1st glance all seems set well (webinterface = yes, listen = localhost:631, administration "user @OWNER @SYSTEM") ...

I also tried with firefox started by root, but i did not change anything.

Any ideas?

Answering to myself:

For some reason (i do not really understand at this moment) cupsd is not started by the file i put into .X.d (?)
In any case, startiin it manually solved.

CUPS is not an X program, and does not belong in .X.d.
