user=bootcode enhanced by uid and gid
« on: March 02, 2015, 04:07:27 PM »
hello friends,

for compatibility-reasons it would be great to offer a bootcode
that either provides an alternative user with a pre-set uid and gid f.e. user=user:1001:100
or
that overwrites the uid and gid of the user tc f.e. user=tc:1001:100

in the moment my files on my ext4-partition are only readable by root, otherwise i need to chown them.

f.e. tc has the uid 1000
f.e. the first user in debian starts with the uid 1001

thank you for your interest.

Patches welcome, seems like a useful feature.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Just add your own users and backup
/etc/passwd
/etc/shadow
/etc/group
/etc/gshadow
