Touch Screen Support
« on: June 10, 2009, 12:15:45 PM »
I'm new to Tinycore Linux.
I am running tinycore on a small embedded system (640x480) with a microtouch touchscreen.

I did a quick check of the forums, and it seems that using xorg is required to support touch screens. How do I go about installing / setting this up?

Does the TinyX build used support touchscreen use directly? It appears TinyX only takes command line parameters (no config files), and if so, based on the output of "Xvesa --help", it either does NOT support touch screens directly, or it was not compiled with this support enabled.

Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
Robb.

For setting Xorg itself up, the info file should have clear instructions. You'd need though to compile the microtouch driver, as these rare(ish) input drivers weren't included taking space.

Xvesa doesn't support touch screens, unless they show up as a mouse, in which case they are supported by anything.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
