Video driver problem

If the driver can't get a good modeline, as a last resort you can copy the one Windows uses. There is some advanced display config app thing for Windows whose name I forget, that can display modelines.

Sorry, I wouldn't know. If the screen is picky, you can connect it to a box running normal Windows, no?

The screen does not seem to be picky - I have tried with a few screens many of which can display tiny core linux at 1280x1024 from my laptop.. (nvidia quadro graphics)

Right click on the desktop and select Properties. Click on settings. That should give you the current resolution,
depth, and frequency.
