Why themes disappear after reboot?
« on: June 08, 2009, 06:35:27 PM »
OK, using jwmThemes from DSL, moved all themes to /opt/jwmThemes; set theme by copying orange theme to .jwmrc-theme, that worked, but upon reboot only default theme, which is orange dsl theme is there, all the other themes are gone?!
Why is this?
I am using 2.0 on a ext2 usb with grub.
thanks

I suggest to reread Core Concepts backup & restore.
What's in your /opt/.filetool.lst?

OK, here is my filetool.lst

Code: [Select]
opt/bootlocal.sh
opt/.tcrc
opt/.backgrounds
opt/.filetool.lst
opt/.xfiletool.lst
home/tc

Does that look right?
As I said, only the orange.thm remains, all other themes from /opt/jwmThemes are gone.
Also, when copying a theme to .jwmrc-theme; I moght have entered ".jwmrc-themes" as I thought that file was in home, but there is only .jwmrc-theme
?
I am using 2.0 but using the bootcode on menu.lst
microcore desktop=jwm tcvd=sda1/vhd restore=tcvd tce=tcvd waitusb=5
I am using the core elements.

If I must I will delete present mydata.tgz and start over, or what should I do?
This is for my new tinycore-2.0-usb at my site.

OK, duh!
I edited filetool.lst and it's cool-I'm an idiot! ::)

You know, You and the Tinycore team really have something quite unique.
I love DSL and when I read distrowatch about Anderson and about how you had to abandon ship and then you founded tinycore and BAM!

Now my fav!
