The following entry into a file under '/opt/debextra/' pulls in the repository for up-to-date versions of OwnCloud-client on ub-dCore-trusty:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/isv:/ownCloud:/desktop/xUbuntu_14.04

Also available for several other versions of Ubuntu or Debian. Browse the following folder to find out:

NB: the OwnCloud-client needs a tray in order to run properly on the desktop.

BTW, the client package is "owncloud-client" whereas the command for launching it simply is "owncloud".

For reference: the naming scheme of the repository has slightly changed by now. The "x" is dropped for the final folder; so it should read, for instance,

Thanks for double-checking, jsl! Indeed, the version ("trusty") is coded into to URL and there is no sub-section to this repo; however, that should be contained in the file. So in full precision it should read

(notice the additional slash specifying the main folder in the repo).
