Hi, Juanito, how about publishing the changelog without my username? Thanks.

Hi TinyCoreTeam,

actually I'm trying TC 6.1rc3 and discovered some elementary problems:

- iMac2000, frugal installations, always run via CD
works almost fine. Some older extensions (eg. keepassx.tcz) are not starting,
Some actual extensions (gedit.tcz) are not starting,
the most important extensions however do what they should.

- I prepared some USB-Sticks with TC_Install from CorePlus 6.0 and newer and they boot well and even alsa sounds, but internet browsers like firefox, midori or chromium can be downloaded, but do not start (wbar or menu) and no error message.

When starting firefox from command line I get this error message:

tc@box:~$ firefox
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /tmp/tcloop/firefox-official/usr/local/firefox-official/libxul.so:
libxcb-dri3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.
tc@box~$

Apps browser did not find any missing dependencies

I booted TC6.1rc3 CD with base norestore and tried to use firefox-official fresh from download and it works fine, but this is not effective.

So TC5.4 actually is my favorite system, and for some tools I'm using TC4.7.7.

Thanks in advance

Did you run the app gui check for updates before using tc-6.1rc3?

libxcb-dri3.so.0 is in the libxcb extension

hi Juanito,
thanks for your help!

I did not find out why libxcb was not detected, and installed new.

This time I first installed firefox.-official.tcz. Immediate test and it worked fine.
Every time a new extension was added: test it and test firefox.

TinyCore is very fine for learning how to script.

works almost fine. Some older extensions (eg. keepassx.tcz) are not starting,
Some actual extensions (gedit.tcz) are not starting

gedit dep file updated so it works in tc-6.x

keepassx is from tc-4.x, but if you start it from a terminal prompt, you will probably see an error messages that explains why it does not work in tc-6.x
