Offline Extensions/deps
« on: March 24, 2015, 09:29:25 AM »
Hi all,

Is there a way to download the deps to an "offline" folder?
Using for instance a Microsoft OS, a program like wget.exe or even through the browser,
to get needed files (.tcz, .tcz.dep) downloaded into tce\optional folder.
The program or browser would have to check against existing files in the folder.

Cheers,

r.

Hi loggedin
Enter:
http://tinycorelinux.net/4.x/x86/tcz/
in your browsers address bar for a list of available extensions. Change the  4.x  to match the version of Tinycore you are running.
Enter:
http://tinycorelinux.net/4.x/x86/tcz/abiword.tcz
and it should ask you where you want to save it..
That said, I would recommend you download the files to a thumb drive and then use Tinycore to copy the files to your  tce/optional
directory.

Hi Rich,

thanks.
Hehe :), I seem to remember the last time we spoke it was about Abiword!
That's what I usually do, type the address in the browser, no probs.
A bit rusty though on IT at the moment :).

I think I mean the supposed program would also read the deps file (so as not to forget any).
But hey, for now I'm alright!

Cheers.

Hi loggedin
Resolving dependencies is best done using the Apps tool. If you really feel the need to do it manually, fetch the  .tcz.tree  file
for the extension. It lists all the dependencies and their dependencies. If you run the tree file through  unique  first it will be
easier to follow.
