The xf86-video-intel driver is not a dep of Xorg-7.7 in the 32-bit or 64-bit repos.

This being said, almost all hardware should work with the xf86-video-vesa driver, which is a dep of Xorg-7.7

The idea is that the relatively small xf86-video-vesa extension allows users to get things working and leaves the option to load the larger xf86-video-{intel, ati, etc} drivers if so required.
