win32 flaws

(1/1)

cast-fish:
complete side issue........but certainly true for winXP

......did you know that win32 is set up be default, (on the Factory DVD's) to ingnore the level
2 cache in any CPU chip....?   (the registry in win32 sets it incorrectly at "zero")

you can, if you like, discover what your CPU chip model is and what it's Level 2 Cache value is

then put in your correct value to replace the "flaw" mentioned above...which exists in windows operating system.

for example, a 512k level 2 cache ----- input the number 200----  into the location of the registry mentioned below

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Cont ro l\Session Manager\Memory Management\SecondLevelDataCache

this is what the internet seems to say

Vince.

cast-fish:
there was a debate to this topic

whether or not it's even remotely concerned with cpu chips after pentium 2......with direct mapped
level 2 or something

it was an argument thread....but reading it, the votes FOR this adjustment made more logical
sense to me than the proof and arguments "against" making a manual adjustment
