[NOT SOLVED]tiny core on mobile
« on: December 27, 2013, 08:47:43 AM »
Hi ,
I am so fond of tiny core because of its low hardware requirements & simple software management.
I have seen people try debian (https://wiki.debian.org/Mobile) , as it has been compiled for ARM architecture. Yet , that requires more RAM , processing power.
In android , I see an app for everything .  Still , vim or mplayer as not been ported ditto . In mplayer I have played unsynchronised subtitles (sometimes displayed dialogues lead & sometimes lag , no frame rate change or advanced delay helps) with video using 'y' , 'g' on keyboard . Haven't encountered that functionality in any android app.
GNU+Linux has built in commands for all general usage , which I am fond of.
Of what I can think - firstly mobiles do not have > 100 keys or mouse with two clicks . Also mobile has mandatory SIM management wireless protocols. OS has to run 24 hours non-stop.
Still , Has anyone run tiny core on mobile ?
Can you suggest me something that comes close on mobile ?
If you can tell me any portable hand held device , even if it is not mobile ? (raspberry pi does not count as it needs external monitor) .
