ondemand.xml missing
« on: April 30, 2014, 07:53:08 AM »
Hello, when i terminate X i  have this messages hanging:

Openbox-message: Can not find a valid menufile "ondemand.xml"

(my translation from danish)

Im starting to think its related to a certain TCL behavior with ondemand apps?

but i cant seem to find any documentation regards it and i have tried to find and grep with no results....

I would like to get rid of it so the console is ready for input when X is terminated.

ondemand.xml is generated by Core depending on the apps (scripts & icons) that are stored in  /etc/sysconfig/tcedir/ondemand ,  and then included into OpenBox's main menu. If you cant find the respective folder (because you don't use any apps 'ondemand'?), it possibly means that Core can't do so either and does not generate a ondemand.xml file while OpenBox is still configured to look for that file.
So It's just a cosmetic issue I'd say.

You could try creating an empty ondemand.xml in  ~/.config/openbox/ .
Download a copy and keep it handy: Core book ;)

stupid me i should have checked ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml ofcourse, i thought i did but your reply made me look by hand, thanks.

I deleted the reference from there.

Mjaa almost just cosmetic, seems to need a sig term before it returns to the prompt.

Anyway dont want to confuse the super user for the terminals.
