I'll look into this today.

Jason W:
Is this the same behavior you are seeing in regular dCore?  I have an intel video card on one pc, and with either xorg-all or xorg-vesa in both dCore's the mouse and keyboard freeze after startx and the desktop appears.  However, with a larger package set installed, all is well.  That seems to say there is a dependency needed.  I have kernel-all-3.8.13 loaded.

I have ad to hard reboot about 5 times now trying to isolate the missing dep for my intel box.  I will try the 3.8.10 kernel again because this did not happen until recently though if installing more packages fixes it, there is a missing startup script command or dep likely at issue.

Jason W:
I replaced the troublesome machine with a p3 one, but not after changing video cards made my HD ubuntu install not boot into x without freezing.  And also earlier when replacing an ATI card for the intel one, Ubuntu froze when booting into X.  It required the "X -configure" command to create an xorg.conf file to get it to work.

But as the latest build of Xvesa words with Debian, I am considering weaving it into the existing structure if it can be done cleanly and allow X desktops for those who otherwise have trouble with either dCore Debian/Ubuntu or their proper HD installs.

Jason W:
I am very interested in getting Xorg in dCore to at least work the same as in Debian/Ubuntu.  But with limited hardware to test and with all the situations that Xorg requires a bit of manual configuring, I have uploaded Xvesa as an available import.  Works here on my box, surely there are improvements to be had.  At least with the folks can have a usable graphic desktop on machines where Xorg is troublesome.  I have posted it's own thread for any discussion of Xvesa in dCore.
