1366x768 resolution on samsung TV connected via HDMI
« on: March 24, 2014, 05:01:02 AM »
i have a samsung LCD tv (http://www.samsung.com/africa_en/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/lcd-tv/LA32E420E2RXXA) connected via HDMI to Radeon HD5450 graphic card installed in PCI slot of my motherboard of my CPU .
I added xsetup to kernel line of boot entry so that i am asked about setting resolution at startup.
1366x768  - no such option appears .
i get 'unable to get monitor information' on running lxrandr.

There won't be a vesa setting for that resolution.  You will need to run Xorg.

You are running Xvesa.

It might help if you also report the behavior of xrandr, each time you report about lxrandr.

According to your ps list you are running Xvesa, not Xorg. It is easy. xrandr doesn't work with Xvesa. Install Xorg-7.6.tcz

If you are connecting via HDMI, be sure the VGA connector is not connected.
