[Solved] firefox-get has a possible script error
« on: October 29, 2013, 12:14:37 PM »
Hi All,

Trying to install the latest version of firefox.  I installed a frugal ver 5.02 install to a HDD.  First application I wanted to install was firefox which is now up to version 25.0 (as of 10/29/13).

I easily used acquired firefox-get from the Apps Browser and opened a terminal prompt and ran firefox-get which asked me for the version number which I entered 25.0 and it went merrily on it's way uncompressing and doing it's fine job but the last step it gave me the message 3 times:

cp: can't create '/mnt//optional/': Is a directory
cp: can't create '/mnt//optional/': Is a directory
cp: can't create '/mnt//optional/': Is a directory

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Did you use a 'norestore' boot option?
This script does not take that possible boot option into account.

Yes I was trying to create an internet kiosk as noted in the http://wiki.tinycorelinux.net/wiki:kiosk

Is there a different method to pursue using that boot option?

Thanks

Silly question I guess I just remove that option to install it and change it later.

OK yes that worked. I temporarily removed 'norestore' from the boot options.

It would be nice though if the script had a note during running that let the user know this for the future :)

Thanks again!
