I know that this is sort of a double post, but I'm not sure which way is better, tcz or scm.

Anyway, could someone look at this and make it a tcz if it would suite it better than scm.

Plowshare4 lists the following dependencies:

bash (version 4.1 or better). It will NOT work using Busybox or Dash (POSIX) shell.

The repository currently has 4.0

curl (version 7.24 or better, compiled with SSL support)

The repository currently has 7.21.7
Plowshare3 looks like it is compatible with the current versions of bash and curl.

Plowshare3 shouldn't need bash at all, since it is compatible with BusyBox.

Software related statements using "or better" as a euphemism for "or newer" always make me skeptical, as such might implicate ignorance regarding Wirth's Law.

Also, it would only be consequent that if one uses "better" instead of "newer" to call the newest version "best"

Ok, I think I'm starting to understand how tcz extensions work.

Here's the:
Bash 4.2:
Curl 7.29.0:
Plowshare3:
Plowshare4:

They were made ad hoc and I didn't test if bash and curl work just like the versions in the depository. If someone want's to test them out, feel free to do so and tell me about how can I improve them. I just wanted Plowshare to work and that it does, so it's ok with me.

Also, does bash need the localisation files and manX files? The "older" versions don't have them.
And how do you make scm extensions? Yes, I've read the scm summary but didn't quite "get" it yet.

Extensions should be submitted to the repository, not posted in the forum. If you wish to submit updated versions
of bash and curl, please send a PM to  Jason W  first asking if that's OK, since he is the current maintainer of
those extensions.

Sorry for that then. I just wanted to know if someone would like to test them out for errors or something.
It would be nice if there were a beta-test sub-forum for member submitted extensions.

I'll play with the extensions a little and send them to Jason W when I consider them release worthy, thanks for that information.

Don't send the extensions to Jason W,  just ask him if it's OK for you to update them. Directions for submitting
extensions can be found at the bottom of this page:

If someone wishes to try out the extension in advance, they can send you a PM stating so and you are free to
PM a download link back to them.
