Xorg-7.6 Intel HD Graphics 4000 Crash
« on: April 20, 2013, 01:01:45 AM »
I am running a Lenovo G580 Stylistic w/ Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics card. I have been trying for days to get it working, but the kernel crashes when switching between windows in ratpoison. Any help?

Also, I am looking for the bare minimum w/ Xorg, so Xorg-3d and libvn will be taken off the list if they are not necessary.

OnBoot:
    Xlibs.tcz
    Xorg-7.6.tcz
    Xorg-7.6-3d.tcz
    xf86-video-intel.tcz
    libvn.tcz
    ratpoison.tcz
    chromium-browser.tcz

lspci
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Device 0166 (rev 09)

If I recall correctly, the hd3000 will crash with Xorg-3d due to bugs in the intel driver.

The kernel may simply be too old for your graphics hardware.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
