installing "packets"

Hi,

I'm new to "Tiny Core" but not new to Linux. Started with RedHat more than 15 years ago.

My question is this...

What kind of available packets can I install in Tiny Core?

I probably have the packets and I have an expensive internet connection based om Megabytes per money.

Want to install all necessary things but don't want to download them :-)

I don't know what 'packets' you are talking about.
Perhaps you are referring to extensions or packages.
You will have to use the Apps extension browser, and there is no way to install extensions without downloading them.
Please spend some time on the main site and wiki to familiarize yourself with the philosophy of Core.

You are right that I don't really know what the concept of "extensions" means.

I realize that I have to get *.deb or *.rpm or whatever somehow, somewhere, but chance is that I already have some of these for other distributions.

No.  Core has its own application manager that uses its own .tcz files.

No, Tiny Core has its own package management solution, it's using .tcz files. Please read docs.
