Others to add to the list, behaving strange with ACPI:

Panasonic CF-M34: Kernel Panic, acpi=off works, but no poweroff then

Panasonic CF-71: same as above

Both tested with TC 3.4.1 and 3.5, TC 2.9 works.

HP Omnibook 900B: Fan will run forever with ACPI, never without.

I did not manage to "plant" a kernel with working apm module yet, so I hope you will include it in TC4 when no kernel update occurs in 3.x.

BTW, in the meantime I installed TC3.4.1 successfully on an old CF card in my Lifebook B110,  and it seems to work very good. A step I would recommend especially to users of older hardware, at least for the system partition. I hope that the mail-ordered faster UDMA CF card will arrive soon.

TC 2.9 didn't include APM either, so appears that ACPI broke for your Panasonics in this version.

What I wanted to show is that there are lots of laptops well beyond 1996 that have problems with acpi, or acpi with them - while most are usually working fine with apm.

Saturday I`ll have occasion to try a friend`s two Toshiba Satellites.
