I don’t write much around here, but I thought I’d stop by for once. Just to say : THANK YOU !
I have TinyCoreLinux on my USB flash drive, with all I need : Firefox, Thunderbird, misc. rescue tools, Gimp, misc. productivity tools, minimal A/V players, LibreOffice, and MSOffice. All is working perfectly :-)
Grub2 starts the OS, either 32 or 64 bits. Grub2 allows me to put everything inside a “.boot” directory that is hidden from casual browsing both in Windows and in Linux ;-)
And all of this is ONLY 3.5 GB! TinyCoreLinux is just amazing!
I love how easy it is to customize it. So far :
— I insert ntfs-3g.tcz into core.gz (trick from SvOlli; thanks) because my USB flash drive is NTFS.
— I recompile vmlinuz due to bug
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51491— I changed a boot script to be able to choose several .lst files to load at boot
Keep up with this excellent distribution!
Yves.
