Cloning a bootable SD card under TC
« on: September 26, 2012, 11:41:21 AM »
I am running an application where the boot functions and the app are all on the SD card. I amtrying to clone this card so that I can have a few reserve cars available. Using the dd function under tc and logged in with sudo I cannot get a method going to copy the SD card to my laptop so that I can used the card reader to create the clone. TC is running under Virtualbox on a Windows 7 machine. Any suggestions?

If you are running Windows why don't you make a copy of SD card with a Windows program?

Hi normandp
You don't really state the problem you are having, but I'm guessing you can't umount the card you booted from so
you can replace it with the card you want to copy to. If that's the case, using the  base  boot  code should allow you
to umount the card after booting.

Key statement:

TC is running under Virtualbox on a Windows 7 machine.

Why do you want to clone card using a virtual machine? If your goal is to make copies on WINDOWS use WINDOWS :(
