USB not boot
« on: June 16, 2012, 09:51:40 AM »
Hi, I have an old version of tiny core (3.7.1) running on microsystem DT166 (geode GX 800 128MB RAM). Tiny core boot from USB and start with ISOLINUX then loading tiny core image. Now i want to upgrade my system, and make a new usb stick using core2usb (1.4) and the latest iso image of tiny core. The problem is that system not boot, it hangs up on boot. On screen there is a message USB BOOT DEVICE MASS STORAGE CLASS 03b0h/80h/3Fh - SYSLINUX 4.0.5 ....... .  Can you help me.

Thanks in advance Luca

Why use core2usb?
Download the current CorePlus.iso.
Use dd to copy it to a blank thumb drive.
Boot it and use the supplied installer to install core to the drive of your choice.

If your system has issues with syslinux, try another bootloader like grub.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

I have solved the problem using an old version of unetbootin 5.02 that installs isolinux bootloader, and now i will try to load a new USB stick using tiny core installer.

Thank Luca.
