Intel ProSet Wireless 3945ABG
« on: April 15, 2012, 01:29:34 AM »
Hiho,

Trying to get wireless working at my friend's house.

It's an Intel Pro 3945ABG Network Adapter.
Got the firmware loaded - iwlwifi.tcz
and wifi.tcz

sudo wifi.sh
give's me a list.

I select my friends' network, it prompts me for the password.
I enter it.
Then 1) it complains - sh:unterminated quoted string
        2) /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf not found
which i managed to silence with
sudo touch /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
then it sends info for authentication and launches udhcpd
which doesn't pick up the lease.

any help would be appreciated.
thx.

cheerio,
solorin

Ah. I think it's because my friend set his ssid with spaces in it.
(the default when setting it up Airport I think)

I'll try it manually.

But perhaps wifi.sh should deal with this eventuality more gracefully?

Success.

Posting this from Core.
Created the the wpa_supplicant.conf file manually.

Correction: the SSID had a single quote in it.
