App loader differences in 4.5

I have noticed that the behaviour of the Apps loader GUI has changed from earlier versions (current version that I am using is 4.5.3).

In previous versions you could continue to browse for apps and mark these for download while other apps were being downloaded in the background. In the current version, you have to wait for and app and all it's dependencies to download before you can select another.

I liked the old way of selecting and downloading apps. You could select all the apps you needed and then go off and have a coffee while they all loaded in the background for you.

Is this an oversight or is there some deliberate reason why this was changed?
