Screen resolutions
« on: February 19, 2012, 04:32:11 AM »
I have a PC hooked up to my analogue TV in order to watch catchup shows on the Internet. The current Ubuntu setup is quite outdated and I am thinking of using TC + Icecat.

However, this would need a resolution to match the NTSC standard, otherwise some of the desktop will be invisible at 640x480 or it will be too small at 320x240.

Is there a way to set such a resolution (525x???) or could the XVESA module be updated to this effect?

Many thanks.

You'll likely need to use Xorg. If you have it hooked via S-video or composite, Xorg should automatically pick a good resolution.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
