mc.tcz v4.8.1 [Shift+F4] errors

mc.tcz v4.8.1 [Shift+F4] errors
do not work in TC-4.2.1
to create file need to write
 echo > file.name
and F4 on this new file
I see this first time why is ... ?

Tested, it works in MC as well as in both stock TC and LXDE with urxvt.

as I do not use them. Your issue is not mc related. Please read my previous answer. Just an idea, that SHift/F4 is stolen by WM's you are using and not passed to mc.

first post title changed from mc to mc.tcz
it is not MC MicroCore but MidnightCommander [if misunderstand]

need to say in all test [with startx or text mode] with tc or root user
the icewm, fluxbox and hackedbox used from CorePlus-4.2.iso
 with all *.tcz from it fully loaded in copy2fs.lst and onboot.lst
and why those keyboard are different in text really do not know
