FYI: No further Java binary releases in TC repository
gutmensch:
Heyho guys,
as a matter of fact the Big O removed the DLJ, which allowed Linux distros to distribute Java binaries (JRE/JDK) directly through their distro-specific repository. This is now history http://robilad.livejournal.com/90792.html. The current releases will be the last ones in the repository. To obtain newer versions you will have to download Java personally or scripting is needed. Any binary submissions will be refused.
Cheers
Robert

Just waiting for the time when MySQL will be closed propriatry :(
gutmensch:
Would be the next logical step... after OpenSolaris and Java ;-) Happy vendor lock-in everyone!
curaga:
Didn't Sun have an agreement to keep mysql open for X years after purchase with a regulatory entity? I seem to recall something like that, against anti-competitive practises.
gerald_clark:
MariaDB is the replacement for MySQL.
