mydata.tgz idea
« on: December 28, 2011, 05:06:50 AM »
mydata.tgz doesn't feel very core-ish. Wouldn't it be better with a mydata.tcz extension that could be loaded on boot and rebuilt on shutdown?

.tgz can be read in any Linux systems and WINDOWS with many archiver, while .tcz is TC specific. It helped me several times to have access to my home dire on other systems, like CentOS.

Keep it system independent.

I agree, tcz (squashfs file) are used for packages that can be mounted in a loop, this mode is unnecessary and potentially counterproductive for mydata  :P
