Installing from Source
« on: December 22, 2011, 02:46:58 AM »
Hi all,

I'm currently having a crack at installing a program from source, and manually sorting out dependency's as I go.

A program I just installed took 30 min to compile and used up a fair bit of hard drive space doing it. I was wondering if I need to clean up afterwords and how I go about it. Do I just delete the folder that un zipped the tar file into ?

Also, do the configure or make files tell me where the program gets installed ?
Live long and prosper.
