List installed extensions not found in repo
« on: November 24, 2011, 03:48:37 AM »
Hi!

Since I updated from tc3 to tc4 I've got a bunch of outdated and useless extensions in my tce. Many of them are kernel extensions. I would really appreciate if there in AppsAudit>Dependencies were a "List installed extensions not found in repo". It would make it much easier to find and remove those outdated extensions.

regards

If you do "updates" it will give you an error on each extension not in the repo.
You can delete these extensions.

Yes, but not in the same window. I need to print out the list or open a second Appsaudit to be able to see which extensions to delete while doing the deleting.

Mostly. There are exceptions, like those created locally, for example flash.

hi gerald_clark,

but there are situations that can lead to wrong evaluations and misconfigurations:
f.e. the network-connection fails temporary on one side (local or at the repository) or the respond is delayed.
so it can happen that for some package-update-requests these packages are reported as missing,
although there are still in the repository...
and perhaps fundamental packages are deleted afterwards by novice users...

I don't think those situations will give a "not found on server" error.
As for custom extensions; yes, some thinking is required.
