GCompris on tinycore
« on: November 23, 2011, 04:11:00 AM »
Good day. I am new to tiny core and was wondering if anybody got
GCompris the Free Educational Software to work on
tiny core. Basically we want to build pc's for children at a school(in South Africa) to work and learn with
but it is very old machines and we need as GCompris to at least work on it (and for the older
children Lazarus).

If anybody can please give me information on if it has been successfully done or not and if we going to try and do it
what we must look out for ?

Will appreciate it.

Thanks alot

Johannes Pretorius

Yes

If you have Tinycore installed, open the appbrowser, and you can install GCompris and Lazarus. You need to be connected to the internet to download them. You can then copy them to other computers if you want.

Tinycore is ideal, as you can install only those apps you want on low performance computers. Tinycore is also much less likely to become corrupted than other operating systems.

If you want other apps which are not already available, you can either make them and submit them to the team, or request someone else to make them.
Many people see what is. Some people see what can be, and make a difference.
