Amateur Radio (AX.25) support in TC4
« on: October 09, 2011, 06:00:56 AM »
In TC4 kernel Amateur Radio (AX.25) networking is disabled. While most of the drivers can be moved to an extension it results a new kernel not only modules.

I kindly ask to enable it in next cut (4.1?) as it is done with mainstream distros, like OpenSuSe, Fedora, ..buntu, ... It doesn't increase kernel size just makes modules usable and safe. Custom kernel is not a real solution as it would make problem for ordinary users.

Hm, when added to 3.x I recall they could be modules just fine?

I made some tests with rebuilt kernel with and w/o AX25 enabled and with existing modules. Kernel rebuilt was working but modules in repo were incompatible.

Kernel were rebuild on TC4 with up to date toolchain and not previous, it can be a problem. Will make further testing and report findings.
