keyboard typing does not reach wine apps
« on: October 01, 2011, 04:06:02 PM »
Hi all,

I testing TCL for the first time, and I am impressed with it. Still, I quickly hit a little problem for which I cannot find a solution.

I suffer from the same problem described more than a year ago at http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php?topic=6442.0

Windows programs run with wine 1.2.3 under Tiny Core Linux 4.0 do not receive keyboard input. Everything I type ends up in the term window that launched it (or nowhere at all, if I launched it with FLRun).

I can reproduce this with notepad.exe, for example:

wine "./.wine/drive_c/windows/notepad.exe"

Any idea of how to fix, anyone?

'wine notepad' works for me.

Run AppsAudit->Updates->Check for Updates.
Update and reboot.

Sounds to me you did not follow the advice from the 'wine.tcz.info' file:

1. In winecfg under Graphics uncheck 'Allow window manager to control windows'
