modifying dep-files by the user is no good advice - proposal
« on: September 18, 2011, 08:54:39 AM »
hi roberts, hi friends,

sometimes it's comfortable to load more additional tczs than are controled loaded by the dep-file.
f.e. i like to load OSS when i use flash.
or i added in minitube some backends or plugins to my dep-file.
but every changes in the dep-files are overwritten after an update of the deps.

my proposal would be an additonal dep-file f.e. minitube.mydep or *.mydep
that works locally to complete the locally, personal needed tczs.
so this would be not affected by updates any more...

give that idea a try, thank you for your attention.

Just create your own (empty) extension that depends on what you like, say mytube.tcz that loads OSS, flash, browser etc.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

hi curaga,

what means "empty" extension?
i'm using an own extension mylocales, that has some config-files and binaries...
but empty extension is not clear enough for me...

or do you mean an empty file called mytube.tcz + a mytube.dep that includes all programs
that should be loaded as a set!?

thank you for your help.

Hi netnomad
It's basically a  tcz   file containing no apps and a  dep  file of the same name containing what you
want to load. Check this link for more information.
