I'm getting a bunch of processes hanging around that have names in the form "flush-X:NNN" where X is usually 7 or 8 and NNN appears to be the number of a loop device of a loaded extension. Some times these processes go away after a few minutes but sometimes they stay around for hours.
The process name makes it sound like something is trying to flush a file system cache or something like that, but that doesn't make sense on a read-only file system. Or am I on the wrong track?
This has been going on for a few weeks now and, perhaps conicidentally, the system seems to be getting very slow, too with Xorg taking up 25% of the CPU (while Minefield is running, though minefield doesn't seem to be eating up the CPU).
Is anyone else seeing these processes or a geneal system slowdown lately?
