This will almost certainly need re-compiling for tc-5.x - did you try the tc-4.x version in tc-5.x?

Yes, I briefly tried it, and it complained about some library file (don't remember which one at this point).  The library file was on the system, but my guess is that it was a newer version that feh didn't know how to talk too.

For now, I ended up just going back to TC 4.7.7 for the system in question (a 18 year old laptop recently converted into a digital picture frame).
