MP3 tag Editor
(1/1)
b1ackmai1er:
Hello,
Is there a terminal based mp3 tag editor that is screen orientated like midnight commander. All I can find is command line mp3 tag editors?
Thanks
OldAdamUser2:
You can use xmms as a tag editor. (Though not terminal based, it does have a user-interface, which may be what you want.)
I prefer to use id3v2. Admittedly, it is command-line, but once you try it for awhile, you will find that it is very powerful and easy.
Mp3wrap is great for combining short mp3s into a single, longer file. That reduces the need to edit tags for books on CD, etc.

Thanks. I was looking for something terminal based since I am accessing the files over the network using putty.
It seems the easiest solution will be to connect the drive to my ubuntu or windows pc

Closest to my knowledge to what you ask for would be mp3blaster which is a graphical console player and includes mp3tag which seems to be a command line tag editor.

Thanks will give mp3blaster a try
