TC as LTSP client
(1/1)
dm:
Hi all!
I'm getting my first experience of installing terminal server. I want to use something like Tiny Core for thin clients. I'm reading about PXE boot here: http://wiki.tinycorelinux.com/Netbooting
Next I'll need to instal some type of client software (like "ltsp-client" package in Debian), but there is no word "ltsp" in repository.
Can it be solved?
tinypoodle:
Not sure what makes you think you would need to install any kind of client software.
TC is very suitable to serve as client software, more or less out of the box.

IIRC the ltsp-client package in debian/ubuntu combines multiple techniques like usb forwarding, remote desktop connection, sound forwarding, etc.. There is no meta package like that in tinycore. But you can e.g. use x2goclient, which tries to accomplish the same (rdp+sound+disks), or use a combination of remmina (remote desktop) and fuse+sshfs for files and pulseaudio for sound serving.

For a simple way of sound forwarding see also here:
