icewm hits an illegal instruction trap on 486 class CPU.
« on: November 15, 2010, 02:29:00 PM »
I am running a Vortex86 ( 486 class ) computer.
Icewm will not load due to an illegal instruction.

I thought it was built as i486 compatible.  But evidently not, so I will rebuild the binary soon.

I rebuilt and reuploaded, see if the new one works.

No change, so I started testing dependencies.
I tested many programs that used icewm's dependencies.
I found that only imlib.tcz was a problem.
The only other program using imlib is qiv, which also reports an illegal instruction.
The dependencies of imlib are gtk1 and graphics-libs-1.
I tried several programs using these dependencies without issue.

So it looks like imlib.tcz is the problem.

Thanks for the testing, I don't have my old amd k2 handy to test with.

Let me rebuild imlib.tcz and see if that fixes it.

Though imlib.tcz was indicated as being made 486 compatible during the first conversion to 486, it may have slipped through the cracks.

I just uploaded a new build to test, thanks.
