Sorry the Easy Install post was too difficult for me; but I did note someone writing that Tinycore runs better from FAT! Seems then, it could be installed from within Windows?
But the install instructions I have seen so far only include Linux-type commands.
I need to install Tinycore to boot  from a USB flashdrive and run on an Intel CPU device.
Where can I find a complete install procedure documentation that will setup Tinycore and grub to the FAT32 partition of the USB flashdrive from within Windows?
(kind of like, the installation of PendriveLinux)
If not available, I already have my new flashdrive partitioned with:
1st partition FAT32
2nd - EXT3
3rd - Linux swap
can I install Tinycore in the root in any of these partitions, or does it have to be in the first partition on the drive?

Tinycore is splendidly small... I certainly hope to learn what is needed, later on, for adding apps to the TCB, but I'm hoping the initial install could be snappy.
Also, I may have missed a lot but I've not found a plain list of apps the tcb comes with?
file explorer, text editor, partition editor, (or not)? what else?
Thanks for helping a newbie

Do you mean apps in base or apps available as (optional) extensions?

Oops, i assume by "tcb" you meant base...

file explorer = none
text editor = vi (busybox)
partition editor = fdisk (busybox, handle with caution!)

This means you are no longer running Windows when you install Tinycore.
I was wondering precisely if one could install Tinycore from Windows, because I do not have blank CDs and I'm no close to a place where I could get any.
(floppies are out of question).
I was hoping to work with the Tinycore ISO in Windows, like, using Daemon Tools or something better, which means working under the Windows OS.
Any suggestion?

Yes base, the initial install.
besides vi and fdisk, what else comes with the base?

and, what type partition formats can Tinycore be installed in?
FAT32
ext2
ext3
?

Redundant, see "distribution files" in repo  ;)

Sure, one could install to a fat32 stick from Windows. In fact unetbootin and linux live usb both support doing that with TC.

Thanks so much for this post, I went to look at unetbootin and I think it's exactly what I've been needing for a long time... there is a learning curve for me to do this and I'm very busy, but I wanted to let you know at least that I'll be working with this when my schedule clears up... I'll probably have more questions then!
