The speaker icon doesn't seem to show up int the system tray under tint2? (still works, just have to try and guess where the icon actually is)

Do you have the latest tint2? I have had no problems for my 2 laptop test cases...  ???

Do other tray items appear in the tray eg vlc?

I have my panel always at the bottom.

Any error messages when starting in a terminal? Only thing I can offer right now, is that I messed up the dep list. Failing that, perhaps a bug submission to the authors?

Ok, seems to be a problem with icon themes? Changed from default to any of the other available options in volumeicon's settings, and it now works.
